20. June 1999

In the spring of 1999 we, Didier Crantor and myself Johnny Olsen decided to form a band together. I would be the guitar player and Didier would play bass. We were messing around with this idea for some time until we finally got together in Didier's apartment. Thursday 17. June 1999. we both played guitars because Didier did not own a bass yet, he had spoken to some guy about buying one though.
Basically what we did that day was to drink coffee, laugh, play guitar, listen to music and make the skeleton for "Song 1"

Our basic idea is to make music that makes your head start swinging and your feet start stompin'.

After jamming for a while and talking about how we wanted it all to be, we went to buy Didier a bass. Didier had already spoken to some guy who wanted to sell his bass and we called him up to get directions to his house. The man turned out to be a Italian who played punkrock, he was living with wife and kids and his wife seemed very happy to get rid of this bass guitar.

Didier haggled and got the bass for DM 200, took it home, sanded (I think he carved) away the name on the headstock and removed the "Made in china" sticker in the back.

We were now ready for business...........All we needed was a drummer, a place to practice, PA and some luck. We already knew "three chords and the truth".

So, what's up? well we still don't have a drummer, I spoke to someone who works in a local bar today, he used to play drums but haven't played in a while. "Give me a call when you got a place to practice" he said, well we need that too. For that I spoke to another friend of mine who is a singer in another band, he promised to check out if it was possible for us to share their "place" and rent of course.

I went drooling over some equipment today, I am not owned by my equipment but the basics like a guitar amp can't be asking too much. I also need a microphone and some cables and stuff. I have two guitars though. One acoustic and one electric.

An important thing I forgot to mention earlier was that we don't have a name either ("what a bunch of loosers", you might think) Well the reason that we have not been trying too hard to find a drummer, a place to practice or a name, is the fact that me and Didier decided to have three playable songs ready BEFORE we got a drummer or a real place to practice. This is important
because the music and our songs should be the focus and nothing else.

I messed around with our song 1 skeleton and have some ideas to bring to our next practice, Didier told me he had something worked out also. we are meeting again later this week and/or in the weekend.

That's all for now.....

9. July 1999

It has been a while since the last update, this is mainly due to problems updating the page and it has been totally out of my control.
Not much has happened since last time anyway, we had one rehersal since last time and I know that it's not really much. We got a bit further with our songs though, and we wanted to record everything on a old cassetterecorder just to keep it rolling as we played along and to get back and find out exactly what was played. How many times have you heard at the rehersal "WHAT did you just play!!??" and you are not able to reproduce that thing because you where "Just fooling around". Well the problem was that almost nobody has a taperecorder anymore these days, but a very intelligent friend of ours said; "Why dont you use Didier's camcorder?" Brilliant, and so we did.
We now have several friends checking different possibilities for a palce to practice, but still we are cool about all this.

Some insect must have stung me in the elbow just before our last rehersal because my left arm swolled up and got real stiff, it made me stop playing after only one hour.

Adios
Johnny
